what happens if my mom spends too much time with my newborn? will she get confused who her mum is?

My mom is doing each bottle feed during the day n night, and then when she is awake, she talks and plays with her.. i dont want my baby to not reckonize me and not know who her mother is.. is possible that theese first weeks are important for her to learn who her mother is.. she was born 7 weeks early and was in neonatal for two weeks.. and now since she’s at home i have done all her feedings for the past 3 weeks, and my mom has taken over this week to give me some sleep/recovery time.. only worried because her due date is today, so she would have been classed as a newborn, and so her corrected age is newborn (corrected age is used for development in premature babies) will my daughter forget me? because this week she has started to look and hear alot more, and be awake, so am i missing out on prime time, because my mum is occupying her during theese times? and i dont know how to tell my mom to not be so obssessed with my baby.. its like as though its hers!

Your daughter will know who you are, but the bigger issue here is that your mother is overstepping her bounds. It sounds like she is a very caring mother and wants to help and her maternal instincts have kicked in double time (for you and your baby).

You can’t get this time back with your newborn – speak up, and only let your mom help as much as you want her to.
