What kind of things can get a bit to become a mother for the first time?

My best friend is 5 months pregnant (which is due the day of Christmas) is their first child and she is not exactly well off because her boyfriend is on disability pension to her back and she is unemployed. I intend buy a large basket and fill it with things for the baby as a Christmas present for her. I had some IDES as to collect the next 41 / 2 months, but I wondered if someone could tell me if there's anything else you might need.
